The piece is divided in two movements: adagio and rondo. In the first movement the course of events is slow. Real piano dives into the noise and struggles itself back to the surface. They have a match.

The piece is divided in two movements: adagio and rondo. In the first movement the course of events is slow. Real piano dives into the noise and struggles itself back to the surface. They have a match.
The second movement is rapid, light and electric - like a match to light a
fire. A rondo-theme, which is returning over and over again, is
alternating
between real, stopped and plucked sounds.
And finally the title of the piece Matches means a good match. The duty
of a composer was simply to join these couples together (as a match-maker).
